I am a certified teacher and educational professional with more than 15 years of experience tutoring and supporting students in reading, math, and academic development. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in Educational Psychology, and I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership. I am also Orton-Gillingham trained, a certified Parent Educator, and a Registered Behavior Technician, and I provide evidence-based tutoring and academic intervention for Pre-K through middle school students.
My tutoring style is engaging, patient, and individualized to meet each student’s unique learning needs. I use evidence-based strategies, hands-on activities, games, repetition, and explicit instruction to help students understand difficult concepts and build confidence. I closely monitor progress and adjust instruction when needed so students can strengthen foundational skills while also working toward grade-level expectations. Most importantly, I create a supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged, successful, and motivated to keep growing.
One of my most meaningful success stories involved helping a young learner who struggled with foundational reading skills and needed additional support with confidence and independence. Using explicit, evidence-based literacy instruction, including phonemic awareness, phonics, repetition, and Orton-Gillingham strategies, I broke skills into manageable steps and monitored progress consistently. Over time, the student became more confident with decoding, word recognition, and reading independently. Seeing a student go from feeling frustrated about reading to feeling proud of their progress is one of the reasons I am so passionate about tutoring.
When I am not tutoring, I enjoy spending time with my children, traveling, and making memories with my family. I also enjoy doing hair and nails and expressing my creativity through beauty and style. Whether I am attending my children’s activities, exploring new places, or enjoying a little self-care, I love staying active and having fun.
