I am a certified math teacher with 10 years of experience teaching and tutoring students. I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Mathematics Education and am passionate about helping students build confidence in math, strengthen their understanding, and succeed in their classes and state assessments. I enjoy making math approachable and easier to understand, empowering students to achieve success both in the classroom and on state exams.

Tutoring Style

I believe every student can succeed in math with the right support and encouragement. I create a comfortable, supportive learning environment where students feel free to ask questions and learn at their own pace. I personalize each lesson based on the student's learning style, strengths, and areas for growth, ensuring they receive the support they need to succeed. I break down complex concepts into simple, easy-to-understand steps while making lessons engaging and interactive. My goal is to build confidence, strengthen problem-solving skills, and help every student reach their full potential in math.

Success Story

One of my recent success stories was working with a Grade 9 student who had struggled with math since middle school and felt anxious about passing the Geometry End-of-Course (EOC) exam. We met three times a week after school, focusing on strengthening her math foundation and building her confidence one lesson at a time. As the weeks went by, she became more comfortable solving problems independently and was no longer afraid to tackle challenging math concepts.

When the EOC results were released, she had earned a Level 4. She screamed with excitement and jumped for joy, and seeing her hard work, determination, and confidence come together in that moment was one of the most rewarding experiences of my teaching career.

Hobbies & Interests

When I'm not tutoring, I enjoy traveling and exploring new places whenever I get the chance. I also love trying new restaurants, watching movies and TV shows, and reading a good book. Most of all, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends. These activities help me relax, recharge, and return to teaching with fresh energy and enthusiasm.
