I am a professional educator certified by the state of Florida with a Bachelor of Science from Johns Hopkins University. From teaching environmental science in the US Peace Corps, to working in the healthcare field, to teaching anatomy & biology in high school, I have always enjoyed helping students 1-on-1 as a tutor. I've had the pleasure of working with learners of all ages, from K-12 and beyond, and am familiar with IEP and 504 accommodations.

Tutoring Style

I have a wealth of resources for tutoring life science topics, and I am also happy to work with any materials my students bring. My teaching style is interactive and relies on frequent practice with the subject material until my students feel confident. I have slides, online games, animations, note-taking guides, and lots of practice questions.

Success Stories

Last year, I started working with a student who had failed his final science exam and was given one opportunity to retake the test. We drilled through practice problems for three months until he felt confident and passed. Later that year, he was so inspired by his own success, he became my colleague working as a tutor himself!
