I am a veteran educator with over 25 years of experience teaching and leading in education, including Biology, Environmental Science, STEM, and gifted education. I currently teach high school science in Atlanta and specialize in engaging, challenge-based instruction that helps students build confidence, think critically, and succeed academically. I am passionate about making learning meaningful, interactive, and supportive for every learner.
I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor my tutoring approach to meet each learner’s individual needs and confidence level. My sessions are engaging, supportive, and interactive, with a strong focus on building understanding through real-world examples, guided practice, and encouragement. I take time to break down challenging concepts step-by-step while also pushing students to think critically and independently. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them become confident, motivated learners.
One of my favorite tutoring success stories involved a high school Biology student who was struggling to pass the course and had little confidence in science. We worked together consistently on study strategies, breaking down complex concepts, and practicing EOC-style questions until the material became less intimidating. Over time, the student’s grades improved significantly, and they not only passed the class but also performed well on the Biology End of Course assessment. Seeing their confidence grow and hearing them say, “Science finally makes sense now,” was incredibly rewarding for me as an educator.
When I’m not teaching or tutoring, I enjoy traveling, creating innovative educational projects, and spending time with family and friends. I also love music, science documentaries, technology, and exploring creative ways to make learning fun and engaging. In my free time, I enjoy attending cultural events, trying new restaurants, and concerts.
