I am an experienced virtual Math tutor with nearly seven years of helping students in Grades 1–9 build confidence and achieve academic success. As a certified teacher with over 20 years of classroom experience, I have taught Mathematics, English Language Arts (ELA), and English as a Second Language (ESL) to students of all ages. I hold bachelor's degrees in Elementary Education and Electrical Engineering, as well as a master's degree in Mathematics Education, allowing me to provide engaging, personalized instruction that helps students build strong skills and lasting confidence.

Tutoring Style

My tutoring style is patient, engaging, and personalized to each student's unique learning needs and goals. I create a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence. I break down complex math concepts into simple, easy-to-understand steps using visual models, real-world examples, and interactive problem-solving strategies. My goal is to help students develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts while strengthening their critical-thinking skills and fostering independence as learners.

Success Stories

One of my most rewarding tutoring experiences has been helping students who struggled with math anxiety and lacked confidence in solving challenging, multi-step problems. Through personalized instruction, consistent encouragement, and targeted practice, I have helped students strengthen their problem-solving skills, improve their grades, and approach difficult questions with greater confidence. Another area of success has been preparing students ages 4–14 for Gifted and Talented Program assessments. I have worked with several students across the country who successfully passed their assessments and qualified for Gifted and Talented Programs. Seeing students achieve goals they once thought were out of reach and watching their confidence grow has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my teaching career.

Hobbies & Interests

I enjoy reading, solving logic and math puzzles, creating educational resources for students, and exploring new technology tools for online learning. In my free time, I love traveling, spending time with family, learning about different cultures and languages, gardening, and playing with my cats. These interests allow me to continue learning, stay creative, and connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
