Taylor

I am a certified teacher with a Master of Arts in Teaching and five years of teaching experience in chemistry, physical science, earth and space science, life science, biology, medical science, math, and language arts. My primary focus is grades 5–9, though I also tutor students in grades 3–9. Additionally, I have one year of Special Education teaching experience and hold my master's degree from Western Kentucky University.

Tutoring Style

I am a patient and engaging tutor who believes every student can succeed with the right support and encouragement. I adapt my teaching style to each student's individual learning needs, breaking down complex concepts into simple, easy-to-understand steps while challenging students who are ready to move ahead. I encourage students to ask questions, think critically, and develop confidence, rather than simply memorize information. My goal is to create a positive, supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, master new skills, and reach their full potential.

Success Story

One of my favorite tutoring success stories involved working with a middle school student who was struggling with science and had very little confidence in their abilities. Through consistent one-on-one support, we focused on building a deep understanding of scientific concepts rather than simply memorizing answers. As their understanding grew, so did their confidence.

By the end of the grading period, the student had raised their grade from failing to a solid B and was actively participating in class discussions. Watching them go from saying, "I'm just not good at science," to taking pride in their accomplishments remains one of the most rewarding experiences of my teaching career.

Hobbies & Interests

When I'm not tutoring, I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially bass fishing on local lakes and ponds. I also love spending quality time with my family and making the most of every opportunity to be together. During baseball season, you'll often find me coaching middle school baseball, where I enjoy helping young athletes develop their skills, confidence, and teamwork. Whether I'm in the classroom, on the field, or on the water, I enjoy teaching, learning, and building meaningful connections with others.
