I am a certified teacher with over 30 years of classroom teaching and tutoring experience. I specialize in English, especially writing, but feel very comfortable with social studies and history. I have worked with students from Grade 3 to doctoral candidates. I have also tutored SAT for a number of years and have helped hundreds write successful college essays.

My Tutoring Style:

Every student requires their own approach; however, every one of them needs encouragement and a sense of positivity.  All students can be placed in  a  position to succeed. One of my greatest strengths is the ability to use my diverse career experiences to demonstrate to students how nearly everything they learn has real world application.

Success Story:

One 11th grader, I brought from a 3rd grade reading level up to grade appropriate in the course of six months, working nearly every afternoon after school. He then got into college with a full scholarship and since graduating authored a memoir. Many students write to me from college, thanking me forteaching them to love writing  and changing the directory of their academic career.

Hobbies & Interests:

I taught karate and Filipino martial arts for more than 25 years. I also coached baseball and AAU basketball. I read in depth across a wide range of subjects; currently I am focused on nutrition. I am also a published author and have also worked as an editor and speech writer. I have a deep interest in current events and a passion for civil rights.
