I have more than 40 years of tutoring experience, working with students of all ages since my college years in the 1980s. During my freshman year at Rutgers University, I taught Computer Science to K–8 students at a private school. Throughout the remainder of my university years, I tutored fellow college students and local high school students in mathematics. Since 2024, I have worked as an online tutor and completed more than 700 tutoring sessions. My tutoring experience spans Elementary Math, Algebra, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus, as well as a variety of computer and technology skills, including Artificial Intelligence, Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, C++, and Database Systems. My extensive experience allows me to work with learners across different ages, skill levels, and academic goals while making both math and technology more approachable.

Tutoring Style

I am a patient and understanding tutor who focuses on meeting each student’s individual needs as we work through lessons together. I believe in breaking complex concepts into simple, manageable steps and using real-world examples and relatable scenarios to make challenging material easier to understand.

I especially enjoy seeing that moment when a concept finally clicks for a student. My goal is not only to help students master the material, but also to help them build confidence in their abilities, strengthen their problem-solving skills, and become more independent learners.

Success Stories

One of my favorite tutoring experiences began with an elementary school student who was eager to explore math beyond his regular curriculum. During one session, he encountered a challenging word problem and was unsure how to approach it. The solution involved multivariable equations, a concept well beyond his grade level, but he was curious and excited to learn more.

I broke the concept into simple, understandable steps, and we worked through the problem together. When he realized he could solve it, he excitedly exclaimed, “This is magic!” That moment captured exactly what I love about tutoring: helping students turn something unfamiliar and intimidating into something exciting and achievable.

He has remained an ongoing student ever since, and we continue exploring different math topics based on his interests. It has been incredibly rewarding to watch his curiosity, confidence, and enthusiasm for learning continue to grow.

Hobbies & Interests

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors through hiking, downhill skiing, and mountain biking. I also enjoy knitting, which gives me a creative and relaxing way to unwind.
