I am a test prep tutor with over five years of experience tutoring students of all ages in SAT, ACT, APs, LSAT, and various other subjects. I hold a bachelor's degree in economics from Pepperdine University and am currently pursuing a Juris Doctorate degree at the University of Utah College of Law.
I am an enthusiastic and adaptable teacher passionate about helping students master the material. I am fairly flexible with my teaching style, but I will work to meet the student at their level and ensure every question makes sense. My goal is for the student to pick up on patterns through guided practice, eventually reaching a point where they can identify said patterns on their own exam.
A few years ago, I met with a student who was struggling on ACT reading. I quickly recognized in the first session that the primary reason for this is several foundational ACT reading concepts, such as clauses and commas, were not covered in his middle school English classes. Thus, I taught him more of the foundational material he did not learn when he was younger, which helped him better understand the more advanced ACT reading questions and significantly increase his score.
I am a big Arizona Diamondbacks fan and will watch baseball when it is in season! I also like to run, work out, hike, and spend time outdoors in any way I can. I also enjoy reading, watching movies, and collecting comic books.
