I am a certified science teacher with 7 years of tutoring experience and 5 years of classroom experience teaching Earth and Environmental Sciences in North Carolina. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from Methodist University and specialize in supporting students in middle and high school science courses, as well as freshman- and sophomore-level college science classes. I am passionate about helping students develop a strong understanding of scientific concepts and build the confidence needed to succeed in challenging coursework.

Success Story

One of my favorite tutoring experiences was working with a student I met while I was a junior in college. He had become blind late in high school and was still learning to read Braille when he enrolled in a Geology course taught by my advisor. Together, my advisor and I developed accessible learning materials and incorporated mnemonics and memory strategies tailored to his strengths as a music major and exceptionally talented pianist.

By connecting scientific concepts to patterns and techniques that resonated with him, we were able to make the material more approachable and engaging. Through his dedication and perseverance, he finished the course with an A-, and it remains one of the experiences that most shaped my approach to teaching.

Moments like these have reinforced my passion for helping students succeed across both STEM and humanities subjects, adapting instruction to each learner’s unique strengths and creating pathways that make challenging material accessible and meaningful.

Hobbies & Interests

I'm a massive nerd and love gaming on both Xbox and PC. I enjoy games like Marvel Rivals, Overwatch, and anything else that catches my eye. When I'm not gaming, I enjoy painting and drawing.
