I graduated from Mississippi State with a B.S. degree in Mathematics, where I worked as a math tutor in the lab, helping with subjects from Intermediate Algebra to Calculus 2. I taught high school Algebra 2 for two years. I went to The University of Alabama in Huntsville, where I received a M.S. degree in Mathematics and a minor in Computer Science. As a GTA there, I've tutored various levels of math and taught from Pre-Calculus up to Linear Algebra.
I love math and consider myself a versatile teacher who gives students what they need. Every student is different, and I try my best to adapt to each person. Whether you are here to learn/understand math more deeply, or you loathe it and are just trying to get through your current class, I'm your guy.
One of my favorite student stories is when I taught a Pre-Calculus Algebra course, and I had a mother returning to school after years away. The first day, I reviewed topics they should know coming into the class, and afterwards, she was so scared/nervous for hardly knowing any of it. I assured her that if she stayed in the course, she was welcome to stop by during my office hours anytime to get as much help as needed. We met every week, and by the end, she was stopping by just to work on homework, without needing help from me, and became one of the top students in the class.
Outside of math, I love to bake, go on hikes, read, see plays, and collect art (I am already out of wall space at home).
