I am a certified teacher and have worked in education my entire career (since 2010). I taught high school Algebra for many years and served as an instructional coach/assistant principal. I'm presently pursuing my PhD in Urban Education.
My tutoring style is very hands-on. I believe in not only setting high expectations but also providing strong support. I've gotten pretty good at identifying a student's unique areas for growth and scaffolding my tutoring sessions to build their confidence, accuracy, and overall peace of mind in subjects they have struggled with in the past.
I've had the pleasure of many success stories throughout my career. One of my more recent success stories involves a student who was enrolled in the nursing program at our local community college. This student was in their last semester and was taking College Algebra for the third time. This student was very nervous that she would not pass this math class again and wouldn't graduate. We met twice a week throughout the semester, and she also texted/called me outside our sessions with clarifying questions. This student ended up earning a B+ in the class!
I'm really into fitness (I work out 6 days a week), watching anime, playing video games, traveling, playing piano, and I really LOVE to eat!
