I am a certified secondary mathematics teacher with three years of classroom experience teaching courses including Geometry and Algebra. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Mathematics Education and am currently completing my Master of Arts in Mathematics at Sam Houston State University. I have experience tutoring and supporting students from middle school through college-level mathematics, helping learners strengthen their skills, deepen their understanding, and build confidence in math.

Tutoring Style

My tutoring style is patient, encouraging, and focused on true understanding rather than simply memorizing steps. I adapt my explanations to each student’s individual needs and use different examples, strategies, and approaches when a concept isn’t clicking. I also ask thoughtful questions throughout each session to help students develop their problem-solving skills and build confidence working independently. My goal is for every student to leave each session feeling more comfortable, capable, and confident in math.

Success Stories

One of my favorite tutoring success stories involved a student I worked with in Algebra III who began the course constantly saying, “I hate math,” and had very little confidence in his abilities. Through consistent one-on-one support, breaking challenging problems into smaller, manageable steps, and helping him understand the reasoning behind the math, his confidence completely transformed.

By the end of the course, he was not only succeeding in math but had also developed an entirely new perspective on the subject. He even shared that he wanted to pursue a career in engineering. Watching him go from avoiding math to considering a career that relies heavily on it was one of the most rewarding moments of my tutoring experience.

Hobbies & Interests

I enjoy staying active through Zumba, tennis, hiking, and horseback riding. I also love traveling, discovering new coffee shops, doing escape rooms, and spending quality time with my family. I’m always excited to learn something new, take on new experiences, and explore new places.
