I am a dedicated Mathematics educator who is passionate about making learning engaging and meaningful for every student. I focus on building strong relationships, creating clear and effective instruction, and helping students develop confidence in their abilities.
My instructional style is structured, using traditional routines that help students feel comfortable and confident. At the same time, I foster a supportive, relatable, and low-pressure environment that enables students to stay focused, build confidence, and engage deeply with the material without feeling overwhelmed.
One of my greatest successes as an educator was when all 20 students in my 8th grade math class scored a Level 4, the highest achievement level, on the California state assessment. Through consistent routines, clear instruction, and strong student relationships, I created a classroom environment where every student felt confident tackling challenging material. This accomplishment reflected the hard work, persistence, and growth of the entire class.
Another success story that stands out is a 7th grade student who began the year struggling to write even a complete sentence. Through consistent practice, structured outlines, and one-on-one support, the student steadily built confidence and writing skills. By the end of the school year, the student was independently writing organized five-paragraph essays.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time gardening and relaxing with a good book. I also raise 4H farm animals , including pigs and sheep, which has become a rewarding and hands-on hobby. Many days are spent volunteering my time assisting with 4H projects and activities such as public speaking, animal well-being and cooking. These interests help me stay grounded and bring balance to my busy life as an educator.
