I am a former KIPP science teacher with over five years of classroom experience, now working as a research scientist while continuing to tutor students in STEM. My tutoring style is patient, supportive, and highly adaptive to each student’s learning needs. I focus on creating a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions and exploring mistakes as part of the learning process. I use real-life examples, visuals, and step-by-step breakdowns to make complex concepts easier to understand. I also check for understanding frequently and reinforce material through practice and review until the student feels fully confident.

Success Story

One of my favorite tutoring success stories is working with a high school student who was failing biology and struggling to stay motivated. She loved anime, so I used that passion to make science more relatable especially with Punnett squares, where we connected genetics to characters from My Hero Academia. This approach not only made the lessons fun but also helped her truly understand the concepts. By the end of the semester, she raised her grade from an F to a B+ and began to see science as something she could actually enjoy and succeed in.

Hobbies & Interests

When I’m not tutoring, I enjoy DJing and curating music events, which lets me stay creative and connect with different communities. I’m also a big fan of anime and gaming, often drawing on those interests to make my teaching more relatable for students. Outside of that, I love fitness and CrossFit, which keeps me active and balanced.
