I have been a Math and Science educator for over 26 years. My approach is extremely student-centered, and I strive to provide high-quality, rigorous learning experiences. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University, master’s degrees from Jones International University and St. John’s University, a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership, and a Doctor of Education degree from St. John’s University. Throughout my career, I have taught AP Chemistry, AP Biology, Pre-Calculus, and a variety of Math and Science courses.

Tutoring Style

I am extremely student-centered, and I believe that every student learns differently. I tailor each tutoring session to meet students where they are, adapting my approach to their individual needs, strengths, and learning styles. My goal is to create a supportive yet challenging environment where students can deepen their understanding, strengthen their skills, build confidence, and experience meaningful academic growth.

Success Stories

One of my favorite tutoring success stories was working with a high school student who was struggling significantly in AP Calculus and had lost confidence in his ability to succeed in math. When we first began working together, he was earning failing grades and often became discouraged when faced with multi-step problems. We met consistently each week and focused not only on strengthening his understanding of the content, but also on developing his problem-solving skills, perseverance, and confidence.

By the end of the year, he had raised his grade to a B, passed the AP Calculus exam, and shared that for the first time, he actually saw himself as “good at math.” That experience reinforced for me how powerful strong relationships, consistency, patience, and encouragement can be in helping students unlock their potential. Whether I am supporting a student in elementary-level Math and Science, advanced AP or IB coursework, college-level subjects, or standardized test preparation, my goal is to help each student develop the knowledge, strategies, and confidence they need to succeed independently.

Hobbies & Interests

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading futuristic fiction, hiking, listening to music, and traveling. I especially enjoy opportunities to explore new places, experience different perspectives, and unwind through a great book or good music.
