I am an approachable tutor with a strong background in education, technology, and STEM. I have a combined 5 years of experience as a tutor, instructor, and mentor throughout college and during my career as a software engineer at Amazon. My focus is on tutoring students in math, computer science, and general K–8 coursework, while also supporting high school students in more advanced math classes.
I enjoy working with students at a variety of levels and am particularly passionate about making challenging concepts feel approachable and understandable. I am known for being kind, relatable, and encouraging, creating a comfortable environment where students feel supported and are not afraid to ask questions. I bring my enthusiasm for learning into every session while meeting students where they are and helping them grow from there.
One of my favorite success stories is when I helped a 2nd grade student in math. He started out feeling unmotivated and discouraged by increasingly challenging material, but I helped show him how math can be fun and tailored tutoring lessons to his strengths and interests. We met 4 times a week and by the time the school year ended, math became one of his best and favorite subjects.
I have worked with dozens of college students enrolled in computer science and programming courses, and my favorite success story is when I helped a student who was a biology major that needed to take a computer science class to graduate. She was struggling with Computational Problem Solving, and I used an individualized approach to walk her through lessons with examples she could relate to and visual aids that matched her learning style. She not only passed her class but earned an A!
I enjoy art, rock climbing, puzzles, board games, baking, graphic design, crafting, and karaoke!
