I have more than a decade of experience teaching math and science in New York City classrooms. I hold a master’s degree in Special Education from Long Island University and have extensive experience supporting students with a variety of learning needs. I tutor students in grades 6–12, helping them strengthen their academic skills, build confidence, and develop a deeper understanding of challenging concepts.

Tutoring Style

I am a passionate and knowledgeable educator who is committed to helping students grow both academically and personally. I pride myself on meeting students where they are and guiding them toward continued progress and greater independence. I break concepts down step by step and use thoughtful think-aloud strategies to help students understand the reasoning behind each process. My goal is to help students take ownership of their learning, build confidence, and develop skills they can apply independently.

Success Stories

One of my most memorable tutoring success stories involved a high school senior who needed to complete four portfolio essays in order to graduate. We met weekly to strengthen his writing, organization, reading comprehension, and communication skills, while reviewing his work and providing targeted feedback. When it came time to present his portfolios, he earned an average score of 3 out of 4 across all four and successfully graduated. He later went on to pursue a degree in teaching.

Experiences like this reflect the approach I bring to students across subjects, including math, science, Spanish, and ELA. Whether we are working through an Algebra problem, strengthening a science concept, developing Spanish language skills, or improving an essay, I focus on building foundational skills, encouraging critical thinking, and helping students become confident, independent learners.

Hobbies & Interests

When I’m not tutoring, I enjoy reading fiction, nonfiction, and poetry in both English and Spanish. I also enjoy playing video games on my laptop, including online games with others. I’m also a big fan of horror movies and TV shows.
